My issue is with list candidates who I feel don't have a mandate from the public to be in office.

It seems unbelievable that you can have "leaders" of party who haven't even won a seat so have no area to represent and if the party gets over 5% then they drag who ever else in no matter how many votes that individual achieved. I feel that if you are a strong enough candidate you should be able to win an electorate seat regardless of the party you stand for as you are there to represent your area in parliament and in a sense they are voting for your voice in a national forum.

I don't agree with maori seats as I see this as a way of further segregating NZ - same arguement as above if you are a strong enough candiate you will win.
