Matthew Blair
I'm a CA. I like many others, I agree with REMOVING THE ELECTORATE EXCEPTION RULE and REDUCING THE 5% THRESHOLD to improve fairness, reduce fear of wasted votes and prevent the "Epsom" deals. But I would also like to offer the following added proposal:
> INSTEAD OF A LIST, CHOOSE "TOP-UP" MP'S FROM THAT PARTY'S LOSING ELECTORATE CANDIDATES WHO ACHIEVED THE HIGHEST % OF ELECTORATE VOTES IN THEIR RESPECTIVE ELECTORATES
This will ensure all candidates are incented to work hard for EVERY vote and there will be no perceived safe or "un-removable" candidates. A "backup" list would only come into play in the unlikely event of a party standing a candidate in every electorate and still winning more seats than there are electorates.
