Should the 5% threshold be kept or changed? Why? If you recommend change, what should it be and why?:
I believe the threshold should be reduced to 4% since many smaller parties have missed out.
Should there be a different combination of thresholds? What should they be and why?:
I cannot subscribe to one successful candidate bringing in with him/her a further 5. This is simply unfair to voters, especially since there have been deals done between parties viz the Epsom seat.
Should list MPs continue to be able to stand as candidates in by-elections? If so, why?:
Yes - they are putting themselves forward as candidates and may not have been successfull so why not allow them to try to gain a seat in a by-election.
Should dual candidacy be kept? If so, why?:
Sorry I think it has to be one - electorate or list
If you recommend change, what should it be and why?:
Many candidates who are turned down by voters end up in parliament as a result of being on the list.
In an election, should voters be able to alter the order of candidates from the list order decided by political parties?:
No, this is a matter for the politcal party to decide
What should happen when a party wins more electorate seats than it would be entitled to under its share of the party vote?:
They should keep the electorate seats they have won since the voters obviously have made a decision.
