Should the 5% threshold be kept or changed? Why? If you recommend change, what should it be and why?:
5% s/be changed to as 5% is too great a % to reach a parliamentary seat . If 2014334 voted in 2011 then to 100000 people vote could be not applicable if 5% remained. It s/be reduced to 2%
Should the one electorate seat threshold be kept or changed? Why? If you recommend change, what should it be and why?:
It s/be changed - why should you need to win an electoral seat if possibly tens of thousands have voted as party vote....To me this goes against what MMP is all about.
Should there be a different combination of thresholds? What should they be and why?:
No - 2%
Should list MPs continue to be able to stand as candidates in by-elections? If so, why?:
No - they were voted on the list.... They must chose wisely
If not, why?:
If they stand at a by election then that would mean next on list is voted in - this is not the wish of the people at the last general election.
In an election, should voters be able to alter the order of candidates from the list order decided by political parties?:
No - Parties should advertise lists - then voters must decide
If you recommend change, how should this be done?:
n/a
What should happen when a party wins more electorate seats than it would be entitled to under its share of the party vote?:
No issue - if the voters say they win say 70 seats - then that is fine.
